Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hand-Won Turf Scheme and Employment.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the service, and (b) the sub-head of that service out of which grants, as announced by the Government Information Bureau on April 13th, will be made to enable local authorities to provide alternative employment for those workers who are now unemployed as a result of the curtailment of the hand-won turf scheme.

The answer to the Deputy's question is (a) the Vote for Employment and Emergency Schemes, and (b) sub-heads G and H of that Vote.

So there is no new money being provided?

The old money is quite as good for spending as the new.

I know-robbing Peter to pay Paul?

We have not robbed any Peter yet.
