Vol. 110 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building of Sanatorium.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state when the sanatorium will be built at Blanchardstown, and what arrangements have been made to date in the matter.

A 241-acre site has been acquired at Abbotstown, near Blanchardstown. Preliminary survey work has been completed and the planning work is proceeding.

It would be impossible at the present time to forecast the date when the sanatorium will be built. Meanwhile over 500 additional beds for the treatment of tuberculosis in the Dublin area are being provided independently of the new sanatorium as a matter of urgency.
