Vol. 110 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mulhuddart Dispensary District.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the residents of Mulhuddart have to go as far as Lucan for a doctor—a distance of six miles—which imposes great hardship on old people; and if, in the circumstances, he will consider placing Mulhuddart in the Blanchardstown and Castleknock Dispensary District, whose premises are only one mile away on a bus route.

The answer to the first part of the question is "yes." The question of transferring Mulhuddart to the North Dublin Rural (Blanchardstown and Castleknock) Dispensary District will be considered in connection with the survey of dispensary districts in County Dublin. In the meantime the commissioner administering the affairs of the Dublin Board of Assistance has been asked to consider the feasibility of providing temporary dispensary accommodation in the MulhuddartClonsilla part of the district.
