Vol. 111 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of County Tipperary Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is his intention to institute acquisition proceedings for the division of the lands of Castleblake, Rosegreen, Fethard, known locally as the Henry Quinn estate, and now in the ownership of Thomas Rohan.

The position in regard to these lands is as stated in my reply to the Deputy on the 16th March last when he asked the same question.

Is the Minister aware that acquisition proceedings were instituted a few years ago, and that, owing to the weight of evidence which was obviously untrue, the court at the time accepted that this farm was a stud farm, when the truth is that it never was a stud farm and has not been since. I ask the Minister to investigate this matter personally, if he does not care to answer the question now.

Is it in order for a Deputy to accuse witnesses of perjury? The Deputy has said: "In view of the weight of evidence which was obviously untrue", and that is the interpretation to be put on his remark.

No, particularly if the people could be identified.

As they can.
