Vol. 111 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Holdings.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when it is proposed to vest the holders of lands on the following estates divided by the Land Commission some years ago, viz.: Ballydoyle (Sadlier Estate), Gaile (Philip Estate), Marblehill (Kennedy Estate), Castlepark (Scully Estate), Hills Lot (Purcell Estate), Grallagh (Myers Estate), Grawn (Moloney Estate), Knockarella (Cooper Estate), and Synone (Fitzgerald Estate).

Approximately one-third of the holdings mentioned by the Deputy have been revested. It is not possible to state when the remainder will be disposed of.

Is the Minister aware that considerable hardship is caused to the people who own these lands by reason of the fact that they cannot obtain loans from either the Agricultural Credit Corporation or the bank, as the lands will not be accepted as security until they are vested?
