Vol. 111 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Flooding.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware of the damage caused by the flooding of the Grange River between Ballybanagher (Cummer) and Grange (Barnaderg), Tuam R.D., County Galway; and, if so, whether he will make a grant available to deepen and clean this river so as to relieve the distress caused in this area.

I am aware that there is flooding in the area drained by the Grange river, but improvement of the drainage conditions in this area could be undertaken only as part of a comprehensive scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the Corrib catchment as a whole.
