Vol. 111 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Assembled Cars.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the number and make of assembled motor cars imported into this country in each of the years 1946 and 1947; (b) whether import duty was paid thereon; and, if so (c) the amount of such duty on each class.

I assume that the Deputy's question relates to private motor cars and taxi cabs. The numbers of such vehicles imported assembled in the years 1946 and 1947 were 346 and 933, respectively, and the import duty was paid in all cases. I am unable to furnish the other information requested by the Deputy.
