Vol. 111 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Dromore River Area.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, in view of the facts that agitation for the drainage of the Dromore River area, Ballybay, has been proceeding for 50 years and plans and estimates have been prepared on several occasions, he will ensure that the drainage of this area is given priority by his Department.

Improvement works under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, on the Dromore River would be undertaken by the Commissioners of Public Works only as part of a comprehensive scheme for the River Erne catchment as a whole. It is not possible to say when the Erne catchment can be reached in the arterial drainage programme.
