Vol. 111 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fertiliser from Refuse.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether his Department has taken any steps to collect and process the sewerage refuse of Irish cities and large towns for the purpose of making valuable land fertiliser available to farmers.

A committee set up in June, 1947, by the Minister for Local Government, on which my Department is represented, is at present considering the question of the collection and disposal of sewage. It is expected that the findings of the committee will be available at an early date.
