Vol. 112 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Small Restaurants and Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will grant an allocation of tea, sugar, butter and bread to the proprietors of small restaurants who have already applied for but have been refused an allocation of these commodities.

It was indicated in an official announcement published in the daily newspapers on the 18th May that persons requiring tea and sugar for catering purposes will be granted allowances as from the 1st August. A bread allowance will also be made available where required.

It will not be possible to grant allowances of creamery butter to new applicants because of the supply position. Non-creamery butter is no longer subject to official control.
