Vol. 112 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restrictions on County Dublin Fishermen.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that North County Dublin fishermen are forbidden to fish the area from the estuary of the Nanny River to a point south-east of the Rockabill lighthouse, due to the fact that this area is said to be closed for bombing practice; further, if, in view of the hardship that this regulation imposes upon the fishermen operating off the Dublin, Meath and Louth coast, he will agree to allow at least two days per week between Monday and Thursday during which fishing will be permitted in this area.

Air Corps exercises in this area are being suspended on Wednesday and Thursday, the 28th and 29th instant, to facilitate these fishermen. These exercise will finally terminate on Saturday, the 31st.
