Vol. 112 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Evictions.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether his attention has been called to the growing problem in Dublin created by the large number of evictions of sub-tenants and caretakers; and, if so, whether he will consider introducing legislation to amend the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948, with the object of providing protection for these classes of occupants, similar to that at present available to tenants under that Act.

Mr. Murphy

My attention has not been drawn to the matter referred to by the Deputy. Proposals for legislation to amend the law regulating the relationship between landlords and tenants would be for the consideration of the Minister for Justice.
