Vol. 112 No. 9

Order of Business.

Business on the Order Paper will be taken in the following order: Nos. 4, 5, 6, 7. With reference to the time of adjournment to-night, as the matter stands at the moment the Dáil cannot sit until 12 o'clock. It is believed that there was a sort of understanding that the Second Stage of the Social Welfare Bill would be completed to-day. I do not know what the views of the Deputies are with regard to sitting until 12 o'clock or whether there is a possibility of concluding the Second Stage before that.

I doubt if it will be practicable to finish the Second Stage of the Bill to-day, particularly as some minor items are being taken. If it has to go over until to-morrow, there is no point in sitting after 10.30 to-night. An arrangement can be made to finish the Second Stage to-morrow, allowing the Minister to conclude at whatever time is necessary.

I thought Deputies might like to get away to-morrow.

We should all like to get away, but I doubt very much if it would be practicable to finish the Second Stage to-day. If there is any doubt about it, I think we can arrange to conclude the Second Stage to-morrow.
