Vol. 112 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Dispensary District.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that Mayo County Council propose to erect a doctor's residence in the dispensary district of Knocknalower, Belmullet rural district, and that the proposal is subject to a rearrangement of the district; and, if so, whether he will state if a scheme for such rearrangement has been submitted for his sanction and whether a decision in the matter will be forthcoming as soon as possible.

The answer to the first part of the question is yes. Preliminary findings on the general health survey indicate that a fairly extensive revision of the boundaries of the district is necessary, but the final survey report is not yet available. In order to reduce the delay in providing a suitable residence, I propose to obtain the views of the local authority as to the location of the proposed residence in anticipation of the terms of the final survey report.
