Vol. 112 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Eire Passport.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will cause to be laid on the Table of the Dáil an exact copy of the passport in the form in which it was being issued immediately prior to the 18th February, 1948, and an exact copy of the passport in the form in which it is being issued at present.

An exact copy of the passport in the form in which it was being issued immediately prior to the 18th February, 1948, and an exact copy of the passport in the form in which it is being issued have been placed in the Library. Owing to congestion in the paper and printing trade in the early part of this year, the supply of the ordinary form of passport booklet was interrupted and it became necessary, as a purely temporary measure, to issue a provisional passport. A specimen copy of this provisional passport has also been placed in the Library. 389 such provisional passports were issued between the 11th February, 1948, and the 2nd March, 1948, when the supply of the ordinary form of passport booklet was resumed.
