asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware it is alleged that the holding of Mrs. John Joyce, situate at Errew, Castlebar, County Mayo (Pratt estate), has been sold by private treaty to a Mr. Thomas; if he will state whether the consent of the Land Commission to this sale was applied for; and, if so, with what result, and why these lands have not been acquired for the relief of local congestion.

Mrs. Mary Joyce sought and obtained Land Commission permission for the sale of her lands to Mr. Michael Thomas (Pat.). As regards the congestion in the district, I have already made representations to the Land Commission in this matter, and the Deputy can rest assured that anything that can be done to relieve conditions there will be done.
