Vol. 113 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Migration from South Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of tenants he has caused to be migrated from South Mayo for the relief of congestion since he took office.

Owing to the action of the last Government in prohibiting the Land Commission from acquiring land for a number of years past, I found on taking office that there was little or no land on hand which could be used to accommodate migrants. In spite of that migration has recommenced and the Land Commission have very recently migrated two migrants from South Mayo.
