Vol. 113 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Look-out Posts.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he recognises the necessity for the renovation and manning of the former look-out posts at Bray Head and the old wireless station at Valentia and at Bolus Head, Ballinskelligs; if he is prepared to make arrangements for such renovation as soon as possible in order to ensure the safety of fishermen who have to operate along that dangerous coast; furthermore, if he will consider allotting supplies of rockets to these fishermen.

The organisation of the Coast Life Saving Service is constantly under review, and the representations made by the Deputy will be borne in mind in considering the operation of the service in County Kerry. Supplies of distress signals for fishing boats or other vessels are not provided by my Department.
