Vol. 114 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Nationality Act, 1948.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state whether the Government, while welcoming the reciprocal rights in the British Nationality Act, 1948, has protested against the inclusion in this Act of the nationals of the partitioned six counties and their treatment as common British citizens, to which at least some one half million of them object.

The Government have protested against those provisions of the British Nationality Act to which the Deputy refers, and this was made clear by the Minister for External Affairs in statements which he made in the Dáil on the 20th and 21st July, 1948.
