Vol. 114 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Clare Man's Holding.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that Mr. Pat Murtagh, Kilforboy, Milltown-Malbay, an ex-I.R.A. man with 13 children at present living on an uneconomic holding, was offered and had accepted a holding on the Crowe estate, Ardmore; and, if so, whether he will state by whom and under what statutory authority this offer of the commissioners was altered and what steps, if any, he now proposes to take to remedy this act of injustice.

Mr. Patrick Murtagh, of Kilforboy, Milltown-Malbay, was not, at any stage, approved by the Land Commission for migration to the Crowe estate, Dromore, although it is true that his application was considered by the inspector who was preparing a scheme of division and that he was ready to accept a holding on the estate. Mr. Murtagh's application for an exchange of holdings has been noted for consideration in connection with other lands which may become available and on which it may be possible to provide for him.
