As stated in my reply to the question on this subject which the Deputy addressed to me on 1st December, 1948, I was then awaiting advice on certain technical aspects of the proposals. Unfortunately such advice has not yet been furnished by the Department concerned, but I am assured that it will be made available to me within the coming three weeks. I should then be in a position to decide what (if any) State contributions I could recommend in respect of the works in question.
