Vol. 114 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - British Prime Minister and Partition.

asked the Taoiseach what action the Government proposes to take in view of the declaration by the British Prime Minister in regard to the reaffirming of the Partition of our country.

I am not sure to what particular declaration of the British Prime Minister the Deputy is referring, but I can tell the Deputy that the most effective action we can take in view of any effort to reaffirm or continue Partition is to redouble our efforts to mobilise all the moral energies of the Irish people, at home and abroad, towards bringing Partition to an end. That is precisely what the Government are doing.

Is the Taoiseach aware that legislation will be before the House of Commons early in March in connection with the reaffirming of Partition?

I am not aware of any such thing.
