Vol. 114 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Health Services (Financial Provisions) Act, 1947.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state what regulations he has made having the effect of excluding certain categories of expenditure on health services by local authorities from the benefits of the Health Services (Financial Provisions) Act, 1947.

Section 1 of the Health Services (Financial Provisions) Act, 1947, specifies the nature of the expenditure which is to be excluded from health expenditure for the purposes of determining the amount of the grant to be paid to a health authority. The Act does not require or empower the Minister to make regulations on this point. Circulars have been issued from time to time by my Department for the guidance of health authorities on this matter.
