Vol. 114 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wicklow's Lime Requirements.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if there is any prospect of a lime crushing plant being established in or near County Wicklow, in which the need for lime is extremely urgent.

I am advised that there are no outcrops of lime in County Wicklow. I am aware of the great need for limestone in that county and am endeavouring to influence interested parties to engage in the business as near as possible to County Wicklow. Inasmuch as the land reclamation project will be in operation soon it is hoped that the land of Wicklow, including its hill pastures, will be amply supplied with lime and other fertilisers in the immediate future.
