asked the Minister for Agriculture whether the advertisement dealing with lime and appearing in the Times Pictorial of February 26th was given to any newspaper or other periodical; and, if so, whether he will state the names of the publications and the cost of the advertisement in each case, including the Times Pictorial, and whether he can give any estimate of the circulation of each of the publications amongst farmers.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lime Advertisement.
The advertisement regarding lime to which the Deputy refers appeared during the week ended 26th February, 1949, in 66 weekly publications in addition to the Times Pictorial; it is also to appear in two fortnightly and three monthly publications. There are no available figures of the circulation of these publications amongst the farming community, but it is believed that the periodicals in question circulate widely amongst farmers. The information which the Deputy seeks regarding the names of the periodicals in which the advertisement appeared and the cost of one insertion in each has been prepared in the form of a tabulated statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have published in the Official Report.
