Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Salmon Prices

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (i) the prices to be paid this season by the British Ministry of Food for Irish salmon, and (ii) how these prices compare with those of last year.

Particulars of the prices payable by the British Ministry of Food during the two seasons are as follows:—

1948

Per lb.

1st January to 28th January

5/6d.

29th January to 12th June

4/1d.

13th June to close of season

3/3d.

1949

Per lb.

1st January to 26th January

5/6d.

27th January to 11th June

4/1d.

12th June to close of season

3/4d.

These prices are exclusive of an additional five pence per lb. payable in respect of first class salmon delivered in good condition, properly iced, not gaff marked, and satisfactory in colour.
