Vol. 114 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Petrol Allowance.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that motor cycle and auto cycle owners, most of whom use their cycles for business purposes, find that two gallons of petrol per month are totally inadequate and at most sufficient for three weeks in the month; and, if so, whether he will cause, an increased allowance of an extra gallon per month to be issued to these owners and to car owners.

I am considering the question of making increased allowances of petrol available generally and hope to be able to make an announcement on the matter in the course of a few days.
