I do not agree that the present pattern of Garda uniform is most uncomfortable, and I do not intend to have the pattern changed at present.
During the emergency the quality of the materials for uniforms deteriorated, but the materials now being used are up to pre-war standard, except the overcoat material, which is still slightly coarser than the pre-war cloth.
