Vol. 115 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Clothing Industry.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will now state what his proposals are to prevent unemployment in the clothing industry which has been brought about by excessive dumping of cheap inferior quality goods from outside countries.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave on the 7th April to his question on this subject. Further evidence has since been submitted by the clothing manufacturers and the question of protection for the industry is under examination.
