Vol. 115 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Charges.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is yet in a position to give any information to the deputation from Limerick Chamber of Commerce and others who waited on him some time ago regarding excessive electricity charges in Limerick in comparison with Cork and Dublin; whether he is aware that a similar deputation was received by the Electricity Supply Board who promised to review these charges; if he will state if any examination of the relative charges has been made; and, if so, with what result.

As I explained in December last to the deputation to which the Deputy refers, I have no function in connection with the fixing of scales of charges for electricity. The responsibility in this matter rests under statute with the Electricity Supply Board.
