Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Road Workers.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state why a circular letter, dated May 21st, 1949, was sent to the Wexford County Council giving power to the county manager in regard to recruitment of road workers.

Mr. Keyes

The circular letter in question was sent to every city and county manager. It did not give power to managers; it affirmed their existing powers and responsibilities in regard to the employment of road workers.
