Vol. 117 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dog Licences.

asked the Minister for Finance if he has considered the representations made to him regarding penalties for non-payment of dog licences and if he will arrange to introduce the necessary proposals for legislation to enable district justices to impose such penalties as they consider reasonable in the circumstances of each such case coming before them.

I have considered the representations made regarding excise penalties for non-payment of dog licence duty and I do not propose to take steps to have the law on the subject amended.
