Vol. 117 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Portmarnock (County Dublin) Housing Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state when work will begin on the Portmarnock housing scheme.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a similar question asked by Deputy Burke on the 30th June last. The council have not since that date succeeded in obtaining agreement for the acquisition of all interests in the site for 72 houses which they have selected at Portmarnock and, consequently, I am unable at this stage to say when the erection of houses at Portmarnock can be commenced.

Is the Minister aware that this question of the acquisition of this site has now been on hand for over a year? Will he take steps to see that this matter is expedited in earnest and not left over for another year, because these houses are badly needed?

Steps have been taken to ask the council to expedite the matter at Portmarnock.
