Vol. 117 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Road Repair.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the method of keeping county and untarred roads in South Kerry in repair by spreading on the surface pit gravel which, under motor traffic, flies off in clouds of dust during dry weather and forms cakes of mud during wet weather, thus rendering travel on these roads dangerous; and, if so, whether he will suggest to the authorities concerned that alternative methods of repair be used.

The Department's technical officers have already suggested alternative methods of repair of these roads and the matter is being examined locally.
