Vol. 118 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Manorhamilton Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will now state what progress has been made towards the completion of the plans for the erection of a county hospital in Manorhamilton; and when building work is expected to start.

My Department approved the final plans and specification for this new hospital in August last. The local authority who have had the remaining stages vigorously in hands since that time, have submitted to me a time schedule showing the remaining stages to be gone through before work can commence. If the local authority can succeed in keeping to their programme for these remaining stages, they should be in a position to ask for tenders this month and work should commence this year—the Deputy will appreciate that the future satisfactory progress is entirely in the hands of the local authority.
