Vol. 118 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Holdings Acquired by Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of (1) vested holdings, and (2) unvested holdings acquired by the Land Commission for the relief of congestion during (a) 1948, and (b) 1949.

I presume the question refers to (1) estates acquired under Sections 24 and 36, Land Act, 1923, and (2) holdings resumed under Section 29, Land Act, 1923. In 1948/49, 27 estates were acquired and eight holdings were resumed, while the corresponding numbers for the first six months of this year are 13 estates and five holdings.
