Vol. 118 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Inspectorial Staff.

asked the Minister for Lands whether it is proposed to give to members of the unestablished inspectorial staff of the Land Commission an opportunity to qualify for established posts; and, if so, whether credit will be given to applicants who had I.R.A. service, in order to bring up their years of service to the necessary minimum for eligibility to compete for established posts.

In regard to unestablished inspectors who were serving in the Land Commission on 1st May, 1949, and had completed not less than eight years' service as temporary inspectors and were under 50 years of age, on that date, the answer to the first part of the question is "yes". To the second part of the question, I must reply that the making of regulations governing the matter is not a function of my Department.
