Vol. 118 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Turkeys.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state what price per lb. poultry-keepers may expect for turkeys this year and if he will take effective steps, if necessary, to protect the interests of turkey producers against unreasonable "culling" in view of the possibility that only first-class birds will be in demand on the British market.

Poultry-keepers should receive at least 2/8 per lb. live weight for turkeys of standard quality for export. As the great bulk of our turkeys this year should be of first-class quality the possibility of unreasonable culling is remote.
