Vol. 118 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Valuation Discrepancy.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the valuations of houses in Brookfield Park, The Lough, Cork, vary between £14 10s. Od. and £16 10s. Od. even though the houses are similar from the point of view of purchase price, size and other amenities; and, if so, whether he will introduce proposals for legislation to have all such valuations fixed at the lower level.

The Valuation Office records relating to the houses referred to in the question are with the revising valuer in the area concerned and are not expected to be available at headquarters for about three weeks. Perhaps the Deputy would be good enough to repeat his question at a later date.
