Vol. 118 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Kerry River.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether a scheme was submitted to his Department under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, by the local authority, for the drainage of the River Lo, Beaufort, County Kerry, where, on either side of the bridge near Kate Kearney's Cottage, frequent and serious flooding of road and lands occurs.

The scheme to which the Deputy refers was scheduled under the Local Authorities (Works) Act by Kerry County Council but it was not put forward for execution in the current financial year. The county council have since proposed proceeding with further schemes under this year's grant and the scheme referred to will be approved if it can be completed in the present financial year.
