Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Barley Purchases.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (i) whether maltsters and other commercial users of barley have yet purchased their full requirements for the period ending 1st September, 1950, and (ii) whether any barely still remains unsold in the possession of the growers.

So far as can be ascertained the majority of industrial users have purchased the bulk of their barley requirements for the period ending 1st September, 1950. Further purchases may, however, be made by these users. It is understood that there are limited quantities of barely on hands of growers throughout the country.
