Vol. 119 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of National Schools.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state whether sites have been selected, approved and purchased for the new national schools at Clondulane, Fermoy, and at Curraghagalla, Glanworth, and when it is proposed to proceed with their erection.

Sites have been selected, approved and purchased for the erection of new national schools at Clondulane and at Curraghagalla.

The normal preliminaries must be arranged before a grant can be sanctioned by the Department for the erection of the Clondulane school.

The Department has sanctioned a grant towards the cost of the new Curraghagalla National School and the arrangements for the erection of this building are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I understand from the commissioners that the working drawings and specification are in course of preparation.

I am not yet in a position to say when work on the erection of these schools will commence.
