Vol. 119 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Schools.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state whether a contract has now been placed for the erection of a national school at Cullina, Beaufort, County Kerry, and if he is prepared to make a definite statement in the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works have accepted a tender for the erection of a national school at Cullina, Beaufort, County Kerry.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that the national school at St. Margaret's, County Dublin, is unsuitable for the large number of pupils on the roll, and whether he will take steps to have a new school erected there.

I am aware that the national school at St. Margaret's, County Dublin, is unsuitable and that it requires to be replaced by a new building. The Department has been in correspondence with the manager with a view to having the necessary steps taken for the provision of a new building, but so far the manager has not succeeded in obtaining a suitable site in respect of which proper evidence of title can be produced.
