Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Marketing Board.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) who are the members of the new Potato Marketing Board, (b) whether the growers have any representation on the board, and (c) if he has received representations from the Certified Potato Growers' Organisation established in County Galway for representation on the board; and, if so, whether, in the interest of the growers, he will accede to the request.

(a) I have nominated the following persons as directors of the Irish Potato Marketing Company:—Messrs. Philip Bannigan, Lifford; Richard Barrett, Ballina; Michael Clarke, Foxborough, Killala; Denis Delaney, senior inspector, Department of Agriculture; Michael J. Gallagher, principal officer, Department of Agriculture; Charles Gold, Lower Kimmage Road, Dublin; Edward McGivern, New Docks, Galway; Robert Patton, Monaghan; Michael Sheehan, Ardfoyle Avenue, Cork, and J.J. Stafford, Cromwell's Fort, Wexford. The answer to part (b) is "yes". As to (c), "yes", but I was unable to accede to the request.
