Vol. 119 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Local Authority Schemes.

Mr. Flynn

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that schemes submitted by the Kerry County Council to the county engineer under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, have been omitted from the list required by his Department, and whether he will consider representations by the council in the matter.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No" and to the second part "Yes".

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the Kerry County Council submitted schemes under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, 1949, to the county engineer, and that these schemes were under the heading of public interest? The county engineer did not include most of these schemes in his report to the Minister. If, due to that fact, the Kerry County Council again put these schemes forward would the Minister consider them in conjunction with the list already submitted?

I have answered that. I have said that the answer to the first part of the question is "No" and to the second part "Yes." They will be considered if they are submitted.

There is a scheduled limited period during which they must be submitted. My question is that even if the schemes in question are submitted later than the list which has already been submitted, will they be included in that list and considered in conjunction with that list?

If they are submitted they will be considered.
