Vol. 119 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Police Reports.

asked the Minister for Justice whether a Deputy in accordance with an undertaking given by him in reference to a question on March 14th last, has made available to him a confidential police report which had been supplied to a Circuit Court judge; and, if so, whether he will state how the said report came into the possession of the Deputy.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The second part of the question does not therefore arise.

I should like to know if the Minister is satisfied that the Deputy in question had not got access to this document, and if the Minister has made any inquiries as to whether he had or had not access to it? On the 14th March, Deputy C. Lehane made it quite clear that he had got possession of that document, and he undertook to make it available to the Minister. Apparently he has not done that. I want to know if the Minister is satisfied that the Deputy in question had or had not got it, as the case may be. I think I am entitled to ask that question.

If Deputy Boland is curious, might I assure the Minister that the document is available? I have it here.
