Vol. 120 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kinvara Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the serious shortage of spring water in and around the Kinvara district, County Galway, and that last year serious consequences threatened when the water supply to the town ran out, and, if so, whether he will take the necessary steps to ensure that the people in this area will be provided with drinking water.

I am aware that the waterworks system serving the town of Kinvara is unsatisfactory owing to occasional, partial or complete failure of the source of supply. The question of finding a remedy for these defects is at present under consideration by the local authority.
