Vol. 120 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Milk.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (1) the total number of co-operative dairying societies to which his proposals for a reduction in the price of milk have been submitted; (2) the number which have approved of them; (3) the number which have rejected them, and (4) the number which have not yet given their decision.

The proposals regarding the price of milk and butter during the next five years were circulated to 193 co-operative creamery societies. Three have intimated their concurrence; 95 have stated that the proposals are not acceptable to them; and replies have not yet been received from the remaining 95 societies.
