Vol. 120 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Differential Rents in County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that a large number of the new tenants of council houses in County Dublin feel that the differential rents fixed by the council are too high, especially those of tenants who are in casual employment; and, if so, whether he will have these houses subsidised to a greater degree to alleviate the hardship caused by the present rents.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No". I understand, however, that representations were made to the county council by deputations which attended at its meeting on the 14th instant and that the matter is at present being considered by the council.
