Vol. 120 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Córas Iompair Éireann Workshops Dispute

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for for Industry and Commerce whether he has read the Labour Court's recommendation No. 370 on the three months old dispute at Córas Iompair Éireann Spa Road workshops; and, if so, if he will state whether any action has been or is proposed to be taken by Córas Iompair Éireann in regard to the implementation of clause 10 of the recommendation which refers to the desirability of setting up machinery for the discussion of problems arising between the company and the unions and between the unions.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that action to implement clause 10 of the Labour Court's recommendation No. 370 will be considered when the existing dispute at the Spa Road workshops has been settled.

Mr. Byrne

Can the Minister say if it is possible that it will be settled at an early date?

It is not only a possibility but a probability.
